Daystar to complete shopping center remodel and recently completed a restaurant conversion

Daystar, a full service professional builder, is nearing completion on the Gateway Shopping Center in Glendora and recently completed construction on the Kuta Grille at the Foothill Ranch Towne Centre and Marketplace.

Gateway Shopping Center
Daystar began construction on the Gateway Shopping Center addition and remodel in January 2005, and the project is scheduled to be completed this May 2005. Located at the northeast corner of Barranca Avenue and Route 66, the retail project includes construction of two, wood-framed pad buildings totaling 7,000 square feet. The new stores have been pre-leased to It’s a Grind Coffee and Cal National Bank. Designed by Robert Kubicek Architects of Newport Beach, the buildings feature a stucco exterior skin with wedgestone accents, radius walls and decorative canopies. Daystar is also remodeling the existing center with new facades as well as parking lot and landscape improvements. The Gateway Shopping Center is owned by DEKK Associates.

Kuta Grille
Daystar recently completed construction of the 6,500-square-foot Kuta Grille project, which entailed the conversion of a former Keg’s restaurant into a Tahitian themed environment with indoor and outdoor dining as well as a full service bar. Designed by Exline Design of Aliso Viejo, the project features teak and other traditional island materials throughout. Daystar also built an outdoor patio dining area with a trellis. Built within an aggressive 45-day schedule, the Kuta Grille was completed in November 2004 for restaurant owners Mr. And Mrs. Paranajaya.
